An article about Icy Mouse in the newsletter and on the By-Béton website!
A portrait of me appeared in the Art & Design section of the By Béton website, a collective brand created by major players in the concrete industry in France. This article is entitled: “Glamorous jewelry and concrete, with Nathalie de Parseval” .
In this interview, I explain how, after a career in biology, I gave birth to Icy Mouse five years ago, using my experimental mind to invent my own jewelry techniques in concrete – a new material in this field.
I discuss my sources of inspiration – brutalist architecture, the Bauhaus, Pierre Soulages, the New Realists – and my approach to artistic craftsmanship, where each piece is a mini-work of art.
Also, I talk about my original creations: bold combinations of natural or tinted concrete, sand, shells, gold leaf... and even "kintsugi" jewelry where a gold or silver network contrasts with the concrete.
You will also discover how my pieces, despite the material, are surprisingly light, and why they appeal in particular to architects.
Thanks to By-Béton for this spotlight, and don't hesitate to read the article (in French) to immerse yourself in this world where design, audacity and know-how meet.
For those who love concrete, I encourage you to follow the By béton Instagram account . Concrete is presented in all its forms and uses, with very inspiring visuals.
