Unusual jewelry inspired by contemporary art

Inspired by the Bauhaus school , but also by artists such as Pierre Soulages or Yves Klein, Icy Mouse transforms concrete into adornment, mixing minimalism and experimentation. At the crossroads of art, craftsmanship and science, its creator explores the contrasts of the raw and the precious.

An atypical Parisian brand

Icy Mouse jewelry is intended for all those who want to stand out, to assert their personality with contemporary and original jewelry, handmade in France .

Concrete, a material that is both raw and mineral, is sublimated in artistic jewelry with graphic lines , combined with gold, silver , glass , metal , or more organic materials such as sand , slate or shells .

Each piece is the result of a particular creative process, which makes these jewels unique .

Icy Mouse jewelry is inspired by architecture, abstract art and nature, and reveals an aesthetic universe with geometric shapes evoking the Bauhaus movement .

Thanks to an innovative creative approach and a bold bias, these jewels deliberately stand out from the classic jewelry offering.

Concrete: a lightweight and versatile material

This may come as a surprise, but concrete is a lightweight material (see the blog post on this subject) . Lighter than glass, it is perfectly suited to jewelry.

Depending on how it is worked, concrete can have different textures ranging from a rough and mineral appearance, if it is natural and lightly sanded, to a polished and dark appearance, like a precious volcanic stone, if it is tinted black in the mass and varnished.

The creator

Self-taught in jewelry, with a first professional career as a researcher in biology, Nathalie de Parseval also has a very varied artistic background: photograms, graphic poetry, collages and painting. In 2020, jewelry became a new mode of expression for her, allowing her to convey her artistic universe in a more personal, more intimate way. She chose concrete for its aesthetic qualities, its versatility and its ability to surprise. She then created her jewelry brand "Icy Mouse". She obtained the status of artisan d'art in 2022.

His scientific training allows him to develop his own techniques by experimenting. Indeed, the use of concrete for small-format artistic pieces is an almost unexplored field, everything has to be invented.

She makes all her pieces entirely by hand in her Parisian workshop. She makes her own molds from shapes she draws or objects she diverts. She pours the concrete there, she works the pieces once the concrete has hardened and mounts them into jewelry.

Bauhaus: a major influence on the brand

The brand's aesthetic universe is deeply inspired by the principles of Bauhaus, an artistic and architectural movement founded in 1919 in Germany by Walter Gropius. This movement advocates a minimalist, functional approach focused on simplicity, favoring harmony between form and function. Bauhaus creations are distinguished by simple shapes, clean lines and the use of primary colors, reflecting a concern for economy and functionality. This influence is manifested in the creations of the Icy Mouse brand through the geometric shapes of the jewelry, which, combined with texture and shine effects, aim to generate a new aesthetic experience.
